Big Ships, Mariners Games and More!

Yes, we are still alive and despite all the curve balls we've been thrown in the past few weeks, we are thriving. Here is just a short, but sweet update on our life the past month or so.

We went to Art Walk in downtown Olympia. Weird people, weird art, great people watching and good times!

I was invited by one of the Port Commissioners of the Port of Olympia to get a tour of one of their ships while it was being loaded with logs. What a cool experience! Of course Blake was in heaven. They gave us a tour of the engine room and it was like watching a kid in a candy store. This ship was headed off to Korea!

My nephew Colby is on a baseball team so my parents and I went to Portland for a weekend to watch him play. It was perfect weather and I can say I sure hope at least one of my kids plays baseball. Colby got on base twice!

I took a random day off a few weeks ago so that Blake and I could have a relaxing day together. But I forgot we were planning a wedding. So that relaxing day off turned into us building stuff for the reception. I think if I had more time I'd really start liking this whole DIY thing...just maybe.

Blake's best friend and wife were in town and sadly we didn't get a picture with them but we got to go with them to Spring Fun Fair and this is Blake inside of a helicopter right before he popped little Benson's balloon......

May 28th marked one year from when Blake texted me for the first time (someday I'll share the full story on here) so to celebrate I took him to his first Mariners game with fireworks! It was a little chilly but so much fun!

Sunday was my last class of mission prep. About a month ago I was called to serve in the Lacey Stake Young Women Presidency as the 2nd Counselor at my church. Which basically means in my church I get to work with all of the girls 12-18 in the Lacey area. I'm thrilled and humbled to be in this position, but it is a little bittersweet. I've been teaching this class for over three years, and I've taught so many kids who have served all over the world. But again, I'm excited for my new opportunity to serve.

And finally Memorial Day. We planned on doing yard work the whole day but my dad told us to go do something fun since we had been working so hard lately. We came back from canoeing and took a two hour nap. Needless to say we both were in serious need of some rest!

Someday soon I'll share all the curve balls that have hit us but for now enjoy the little adventures we've been having in between our crazy schedule of life, work, school and wedding planning!

Stay awesome.
