To-Do Lists

My life is run by to-do lists these days.

Each Monday when I arrive at my office I start my weekly list with little boxes next to it. (Does anyone else find it fulfilling to check off those little boxes?!) I take a look at last weeks list and re-write what didn't get done on the new list. I prioritize and get going.

Sunday night Blake and I wrote out the first two months of our wedding to-do list.

I have my own personal lists of things I need to get done.

While I love the focus and efficiency that comes with my to-do lists, sometimes I just want to throw that list out the window and just spend a day or two wandering. Nothing to get done but getting so much done. Does that even make sense?

While I feel it is important to write down what needs to get done to help yourself be focused and driven, I think sometimes it is important to just let go. Easier said than done, though, am I right?

So here is to each of us finding a day in our week, or month if that is what works for you, where you don't write a list down. A day where you just let go and live. Can you just imagine where that day might take you?

What will you see because you aren't busy looking down at your list?

What conversations will you be able to have because you aren't so focused on what needs to get done?

What relationships will you build because you've given them your undivided attention?

How do you stay organized? And how do you let go?

Stay awesome,

  1. I'm a big to-do list person as well! As long as you can follow them, they are so helpful.
