Instagram Lately

Life has been busy lately and I seem to only do updates on the big adventures but my life is so much more than the big stuff. So I thought I'd do a little update on the every day by sharing my Instagram and all that has been going on there.

This was a fun night for Blake and I. With my job sometimes I get to attend really cool events and sometimes I even get to bring Blake. This event was The Lucky Eagle Casino & Hotel Team Member of the Year Gala. We got to dress up, eat good food and enjoy some good entertainment. It was great to see how much Lucky Eagle appreciates their employees.

I still can't get over how much fun this small Saturday adventure was if you didn't read about it yet check it out here. It wasn't a big ordeal but nice to be outside and not stuck in an office.

I've never been a huge Valentines Day fan, but this year changed that. Blake and I didn't do anything huge or overly special but spending the day with someone you love, and knowing that someday that love will be eternal just makes it so much better. P.S. I promise we didn't match on purpose :).

I caught this picture on the way to work last week and about 10 minutes after I posted it, it started pouring rain. But despite that, I couldn't help but think how lucky I was and how beautiful of a place I live in.

If you've never been to The Small Seed website you need to right now. They started the "Choosing to Love Myself" campaign and I couldn't help but jump aboard. I can't say I've been perfect at following each daily challenge but I can say it really has helped me because each day when I start thinking negatively about myself I think of this campaign and I remind myself to stop it. We are all children of God and we should never put ourselves down. But don't take my word for it, check it out now!

Can you tell I'm trying to read too many books at once? Added to this list: I just finished listening to In This Together by Ann Romney and now am listening to Me Before You by JoJo Moyes. All great books - book reviews coming soon!

In January, I went to two different weddings within a week of each other in two different states for two of my close friends. It was a lot of travel in a short time but I'm so glad I could be there for them on their big day!

One of the weddings was in Utah and so I got to spend some time with my nieces and nephews. My niece kept trying to find a piece of her dress ups that would fit me and when she kept failing she proceeded to tell me "I need to find something huge." This resulted in a rocking headband.

Follow along on my more day to day life here.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge

Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge
Blake and I've made the goal that even though it isn't summertime yet we are going to do our best to get outside as much as possible, even if its cold (more for me than him).

If you're in Washington the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge is as cool place especially in the spring when the place is full of birds and green!

It use to be a farm back in the day so it had some really cool, HUGE, barns as well. I'd be lying if Blake didn't try and sneak a peak as to what was inside. On a sunny day and the tide isn't out, not this day obviously, you get a great view of the Puget Sound.

We had fun just going for a walk around the place. We just wandered for a while, took some pictures and just enjoyed our Saturday morning together.

There were loads of people there who were the real deal! They had special binoculars to see special birds. Once guy let us look through his to see a Horned Ear Owl. Some people take their bird watching very seriously (The Big Year anyone?!).

Because what is an adventure without some jumping pictures. If you can't tell I'm incapable of taking a jumping picture without making a ridiculous face. Oh well, it won't stop me.

Blake is the master of parkour!

And this is the most normal picture we could get together. Welcome to our life!

New Years New Adventure

Still playing catch up! For New Years Blake and I headed to Portland to spend it with my sister Havalah and her family. New Years Eve was spent playing games and eating too much sugar and New Years day we headed to the mountains for a snow adventure.

We were going to go to Mount Hood to go sledding but we decided to go closer to home and drove up into the mountains to find snow. We ended up just pulling off on a little side road and just playing in the woods. We sledded, had some snow fights, and ended it with hot chocolate.

When Blake moved to Washington we decided we wanted to spend more time outdoors and having adventures. Needless to say I couldn't have picked a better way to kick-off his move here and the New Year.

If you can't tell I totally had Blake pinned, I even counted to 10.

It was a perfect yet freezing day. By the end of our time there this little guy was cold and ready to go home. But despite all the coldness we had so much fun, even if it meant having snow thrown at me by a two year old.

I know I know I'm so far behind but I don't want to skip over any of these fun trips so you get to enjoy me playing catch up the next week or so.

Back in November Blake and I went to San Antonio, Texas with my parents to visit my oldest sister, Joy and her family. It was the first time she met Blake and man did we have a good time!

One of the days we went to the San Jose Mission and just explored for a few hours!

Aren't my parents the cutest!?

Teaching my little nephews how to take jumping pictures. Cutest thing ever!

Now brace yourself for some model shots of Thomas, the cutest/funniest little kid.

This is Jackson. I think it is safe to say I have the cutest nephews and nieces around.

Thomas was a huge fan of Blake. I have to admit, sometimes I get jealous because I'm use to being the favorite aunt. But then I just realize why I love Blake so much. #cheesy

And of course what is a trip without girls time!

Yes this is my oldest niece, and yes she is taller than me, and yes she is only 13. Oh well because she is gorgeous. Boys stay away!! Someday we are going to see her on the big stage, this girl had me cracking up!

And of course she stole my phone.

It is safe to say a majority of the weekend was spent like this but I don't even care. Can't wait to see Joy and her family again when they come to Washington for a whole month in July!
