#thankfultuesday - Appreciate Life Now

Life is not meant to only be appreciated in retrospect.

I remember one time I was reminiscing on my life and I was thinking of a really hard time I went through. I realized that I was grateful for that hard time. I was kind of shocked. Who is grateful for hard times?! Initially I thought I was a little on the crazy side, but what I realized changed me. I realized I was grateful because of how it had changed me. I promised myself I'd start being grateful for the hard times in the moment so I didn't have to wait to look back and be grateful.

This week I'm grateful for....

1. The beautiful sunshine we had all weekend when the forecast said rain.

2. For the eight hours I got to spend listening to General Conference.

3. For my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

4. That I got to see one of my favorite people in the whole world this weekend for the first time in 18 months.

5. For my strong personality, well most of the time.

6. That I get to go to a Mariners game today! It may not have been Opening Day but it is the 2nd game of the season.

7. That my Grandma is coming to visit for a couple of weeks.

8. The knowledge that all though my life seems a bit messy these days that it will all work out.

9. For texts from old friends who haven't forgotten you.

10. For my parents. I know I always say something about them but they do so much for me.

What are you grateful for this week?

  4. Wasn't all that surprise sunshine we got great?? Sorry the Mariners lost the game you went to, but I hope you still had fun! I really like this post, it's so hard to stay positive and grateful in the middle of the storm. But it's a great goal! :-)
