#thankfultuesday

I know Thanksgiving is over and now we are onto Christmas but I still want to continue this series because there is too much to be grateful for year around to just share it during one month a year.

Found here.

You might be wondering right now, "what does this quote have to do with gratitude?". Let me tell you. We always talk about living in the moment, especially when we hear motivational speeches. Almost all motivational speeches mention that at least once. But I'd like to take it a step further. It isn't just about living in the moment, but it is being grateful for that moment during it. Not just waiting till it is a memory and you realize how great it was.

We need to be grateful in our circumstances, like President Uchtdorf has taught us. We can't wait. If we do we will miss out on blessings, lessons learned and happiness.

I'm grateful for....

1. The chance I got to travel to Utah with my parents to spend Thanksgiving with my brothers and one of my sisters, and of course all of my adorable nieces and nephews!

2. The chance I got to make a new friend this weekend.

3. That I was able to go to the Temple Square lights with one of my best friends. The temple is a place of peace and you can even feel it when you are outside, and I love it!

4. That my parents and I were able to drive back safely through a snow storm.

5. That I was pushed outside of my comfort zone at least 5x on Sunday.

6. The opportunity my job gives me to be involved in the community.

7. My space heater and blanket under my desk. I know I've said it before and I'm positive I'll say it again over the next couple months. But I don't know how I'd stay warm without them!

8. My body. Yes I have daily headaches and migraines but I still have a strong body and the ability to do more then most!

9. I'm grateful for the new Just Serve initiative that has been rolled out by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It will be a great opportunity to strengthen our communities and build friendships we normally wouldn't be able to. Find out more here.

10. I'm grateful for a family who I can always have a good time with and where laughter is a regularly heard noise.

What are you grateful for?

  1. You have such a great perspective! It was really inspiring to read this. I never thought to be thankful for some of these things. For example, I HATE being out of my comfort zone. But I am thankful after the fact, because those things pushed me and grew me. Thanks for sharing this with Hump Day Happenings!
